Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.
We use Your Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Google User Data and Limited Use
Greenlit's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Greenlit does not use Google Workspace API data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI and/or ML models.
This section governs every piece of data Greenlit receives from a Google API ("Google user data"), including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive and Google Contacts data. Where anything else in this Privacy Policy is broader than this section, this section controls for Google user data.
What we access, and why
Greenlit asks for each scope only when You turn on the matching feature, and every use below starts with something You do or a setting You choose. The Greenlit Assistant is the in-app assistant that does work in Greenlit for You.
openid, email, profile— to sign You in and identify Your account.contacts.readonlyandcontacts.other.readonly— to import Your contacts into Your own Greenlit account so You do not have to retype the people You already work with.gmail.modify— only if You connect Gmail for the Assistant, for these uses:- Read and search. When You ask the Assistant a question, it searches Your mailbox and reads the matching messages to answer it.
- Suggest updates. If You turn on proactive updates, the Assistant reads new mail only from people who are already contacts in Your own Greenlit account, and proposes an update to a deal (for example, a stage change, a note with the terms, or a follow-up task). You approve or dismiss each proposal; nothing changes until You approve. Mail from anyone else is not read.
- Send. The Assistant sends only messages You write or approve, after showing You the recipients, subject and body. It never sends email on its own.
- Label and archive. When You ask, the Assistant can add a label to a message or archive it (remove it from Your inbox). It never deletes a message, never moves one to Trash, and never changes Your filters, forwarding or settings.
- Contact import and interaction history use only the sender, recipients, date and subject of Your messages, to find the people You correspond with and record that an email took place. If You connect Gmail for contact import only, Greenlit asks for
gmail.readonlyinstead.
calendar.readonlyandcalendar.events(orcalendar.events.readonlyif You grant read-only access) — the Assistant lists Your calendars and reads Your events to answer Your questions, prepare a morning brief and help You prepare for meetings, and creates or changes an event only when You ask or approve it. If You turn on calendar sync, event titles, times and attendees are recorded as interactions with the people You meet.meetings.space.readonlyandmeetings.space.created— only if You turn on Google Meet transcript import. The Assistant reads the conference record and transcript of Google Meet calls You organised (where Google made a transcript) and files them as meeting notes in Your Greenlit account, which You can edit or delete at any time. It never joins, records or creates a meeting, and does not read calls organised by someone else through this permission.drive.readonly— the Assistant can open a Google Drive file that You can already open, including files on shared drives, when a link to it arrives in an email or a submission or when You ask about it. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are exported as text so the Assistant can read them. The Assistant reads files to answer Your questions and to extract project details, which You review before anything is saved. It never modifies, shares or deletes Your Drive files.drive.file— the files You pick by hand in the Google Picker, read for the same purposes.
We never request access to Your Google Photos, and we never request permission to permanently delete Your email or to change Your Google account settings.
How we use and share it
- We use Google user data only to provide the user-facing features described above, and for no other purpose.
- A mailbox connection belongs to the person who made it: only Your Assistant reads Your mail. Interaction records created from Your mail or calendar follow the visibility You choose for them in Greenlit.
- We never sell Google user data. We never use it for advertising, ad targeting, retargeting or market research, never use it to determine credit-worthiness or for lending purposes, and never transfer it to data brokers or information resellers.
- We transfer Google user data only as needed to provide the features You use (to Amazon Web Services, as our processor), for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets after obtaining Your explicit prior consent.
- No other AI provider or third party receives Google user data. Our analytics, payments and other service providers receive none of it.
- No human at Greenlit reads Your Google user data, except (i) with Your affirmative agreement for specific messages or files (for example, a support request about a particular email), (ii) when necessary for security purposes, such as investigating abuse or a bug, (iii) to comply with applicable law, or (iv) when it is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning
- To answer Your questions and propose updates, the Assistant processes Google user data with Anthropic Claude models through Amazon Bedrock, running in Greenlit's own AWS account in United States regions.
- Amazon Bedrock does not use this data to train models and does not share it with Anthropic or any other model provider.
- Google user data is not used — whether raw, aggregated, anonymized, or derived — to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or ML models, by Greenlit or by anyone else.
- To answer Your questions, propose updates and summarise meeting transcripts, the Assistant processes Gmail, Calendar, Drive and Google Meet content the same way; no other service receives it.
- Contact import, interaction history and calendar sync are implemented with rule-based code and do not use an AI model.
Storage, retention, and deletion
- Email bodies, calendar details and Drive file contents are processed when needed and not stored, except content You choose to save after approving it (for example, a note, deal terms or a task). A Google Meet transcript is kept only as the meeting note it becomes, which You can delete.
- While Your account is connected, we keep Your Google OAuth tokens, encrypted. For the life of Your Greenlit account we keep the contacts and interaction records (participants, date and subject) created from Your Google data, and You can delete them at any time.
- All Google user data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Disconnecting a Google account in Greenlit revokes our access with Google, deletes the stored tokens, and stops all syncing. You may also revoke access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You can delete imported contacts and interactions from within Greenlit.
- Deleting Your login or account revokes Greenlit's access to Your Google account. Google-derived data is not kept in our compliance archive.
- Deleted data ages out of our encrypted backups within 35 days.
- To request deletion of Your Google user data, or of all Your data, email support@greenlit.io.

When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, Your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, Your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Information from Third-Party Social Media Services
The Company allows You to create an account and log in to use the Service through the following Third-party Social Media Services:
- Microsoft
If You decide to register through or otherwise grant us access to a Third-Party Social Media Service, We may collect Personal data that is already associated with Your Third-Party Social Media Service's account, such as Your name, Your email address, or Your contact list associated with that account.
You may also have the option of sharing additional information with the Company through Your Third-Party Social Media Service's account. If You choose to provide such information and Personal Data, during registration or otherwise, You are giving the Company permission to use and store it in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. Tracking Technologies and Cookies
We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze Our Service. The technologies We use may include:
- Cookies or Browser Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. You can instruct Your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if You do not accept Cookies, You may not be able to use some parts of our Service. Unless you have adjusted Your browser setting so that it will refuse Cookies, our Service may use Cookies.
- Web Beacons. Certain sections of our Service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity).
Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session" Cookies. Persistent Cookies remain on Your personal computer or mobile device when You go offline, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as You close Your web browser.
Mobile Apps, Connectors and Imports
Each of the features below is off until You turn it on, and You can turn it off at any time.
Phone contacts (iOS and Android apps)
If You choose More → Import contacts → Phone contacts in the Application and grant the system contacts permission, the Application reads the name, email addresses, phone numbers and company of the contacts on Your device and sends them to Greenlit, where they become People in Your account. While the import is on, the Application re-syncs Your phone contacts at most once a day when You open it. We do not read photos, notes, addresses or any other field of Your address book. You can stop syncing by revoking the contacts permission in Your device settings, and delete imported People from within Greenlit at any time.
Google and Microsoft Outlook connectors
If You connect a Google or Microsoft Outlook account, Greenlit may read, depending on what You choose to connect: Your contacts (Google only); Your email headers — sender, recipients, subject and time; and Your calendar events (titles, times and attendees). We use this to keep the people You work with and Your interactions with them up to date in Your account. For Microsoft we request Mail.Read and Calendars.Read (or Calendars.ReadWrite if You choose to add Greenlit dates to Your calendar). If You also connect the account to the Greenlit Assistant, the Assistant reads Your email when You ask it to, sends email only when You send or approve it, and creates calendar events only when You ask for or approve them (for Microsoft, Mail.Send is added); email bodies are not stored unless You choose to save content after approving it. Google data is also governed by the Google User Data and Limited Use section above. You can disconnect a connector at any time from within Greenlit, which stops all further syncing.
Slack and WhatsApp chat exports
If You import a Slack or WhatsApp chat export file, or link Slack or WhatsApp from Import contacts, Greenlit reads the names, contact details and message dates in it to add the people You talk to and Your interactions with them to Your account.
Product analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog, a product analytics service hosted in the United States, to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. PostHog receives Your user ID, name and email, Your account ID, the actions You take (for example, which buttons You tap and which records You create), and Your device and app version. PostHog derives an approximate location (city and country) from Your IP address. In the Application, analytics records taps only, never the text on Your screen, and there is no session recording. We do not use analytics data for advertising and do not sell it, and the Application does not use advertising identifiers or track You across other companies' apps or websites.
Service providers
We use these Service Providers to run the Service: Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, email delivery, and Amazon Bedrock for reading the documents You upload and running the Greenlit Assistant), Cloudflare (network and file storage), PostHog (product analytics), and Stripe (payments on the web; the Application takes no payments). They process data only on Our behalf.

In particular, we never share Google user data with business partners, affiliates, or advertisers, and we never transfer it in a business transfer without Your explicit prior consent. The only service provider that receives Google user data is Amazon Web Services, as our processor, where necessary to deliver a feature You asked for; no other service provider receives it.
Retention of Your Personal Data
The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
The Company will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes.
